How to Avoid your house Tiles Looking Dull by Tile Cleaning

You all know that ceramic tiles are lovely and easy to care for, but over time, it can appear dull instead of shiny. Often this is due to a buildup of cleaning products used on the tile in the past. With regular cleaning using simple cleaning products, tile is very easy to keep clean and shiny. By using vacuum cleaner or a fluffy dust mop daily to remove dust and dirt before it becomes embedded in your tile and grout. This is the easiest and fastest way to maintain your flooring. So you never use a straw broom for the job, though, because it will scratch your tiles.

How to maintain your Tile Floors:-

  • Use baking soda and water. Rub the paste into the grout using an old toothbrush and rinse off. If the stains are really bad, you can apply plain baking soda, add a bit of distilled white vinegar, and let the solution sit for an hour before you begin scrubbing.
  • Use deep cleaning solutions every so often. This will help remove stains and greasy residue without damaging your tiles. Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with a gallon of warm water. This natural approach is especially useful for kitchens. If you don’t have vinegar on hand, you can substitute it with a 1/2 cup of plain rubbing alcohol.
  • Make your own cleaning solution by mixing 3/4 cup of ammonia with 1 cup of laundry detergent and 1 gallon of warm water. Mop the floor with the solution; let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then clean with a scrubbing sponge or stiff scrub brush. Rinse the floors with clean water, let dry, and apply new wax.
  • Treat your natural stone floor to a make-over once a year by a tried and tested professional to get rid of the buildup of substances that occur over time.
